Scala is lovely and Ravello walkable If you are fit. The bus service to Amalfi and Ravello could be a little erratic. Having a car is more of a hinderance than a help. Restaurants and cafes are available. San Lorenzo Cathedral is worth a visit. They still use mules to deliver goods etc in the village. A very quaint town

There is only 1 restaurant and a pizzaria in the village.

There is only 1 restaurant and a pizzaria in the village. The shops are very basic but you should be able to get most things if you self-cater. It is easy to get to Ravello by bus (tickets must be purchased in advance from the "card shop"). Ideally you need your own transport as the terrain is very hilly. It is expensive to get to and from the airport by taxi.

Great little town, quite and off the busy Amalfi coast towns with a nice view. Having a car really helped. There was a great restaurant within a 20 minute walk of our B&B. You need to be in good shape to walk around, as very hilly.

Scala is quiet, authentic and charming, with beautiful views of Ravello and the Amalfi coast everywhere you go. There are a few decent café and restaurant options, mostly in the town center. This is a steep mountain village so having a car to go up and down the switchback slopes is highly recommended. Finding parking in the small town center was never an issue, not even in the middle of July.

Scala is a small, unspoilt town with several bars and restaurants on the main road. Further restaurants are dotted through the town, Zio Peppe was a great find up in the hills and Il Pinguino serve great food. Da Pietro snack bar in the town square has great views across the gorge and serves the best Aperol spritz. If you want to explore further there is a great picnic area at Parco Paradiso, hidden high up in the hills, where you can bring your own food to cook on wood burning grills and pizza ovens with nothing but the sound of nature. There is a regular bus service to Ravello and Amalfi and also a walking route down to Amalfi. Parking spaces marked with blue are pay-parking.

    Higher up the hill.

Higher up the hill. Little village with view at Ravello and the Amalfi Coast, enjoy living between the locals. Just at walking distance you find Restaurants serve local dishes. We eat at Ristorante Il Pinguino, delicious dishes and pizza. In the morning we took the dog for a walk and met the donkeys in the narrow alleys op hill where you find a beautiful view over the coastline.

Most amazing view of the region (even better than in Ravello) Very quiet area, far from agitated coast and tourist while still being relatively close (but need car otherwise it is complicated) Small swimming pool with a 5 stars hotel view Very nice apartment (Anna), clean, confortable and well furnished Baby-foot and table tennis to entertain Very nice host, offered us coffee, lemoncello, drove us to Ravello for visiting and even offered a birthday gift ! They know local shops so they can even deliver food to the property

Overall, the Villa has certainly exceeded expectations. Carla our host, was very organised and made sure we felt comfortable from the start. We were attended to very quickly and check in process was very swift as payment was made beforehand. The Villa oversaw a lovely view of Scala and Ravello and it was very straightforward to get to. Carla was even able to respond to ad-hoc requests almost instantly. We also had a very spacious sofa bed that was the size of a double bed and the amenities were spotless!

Location is outstanding and walking distance to another nearby town called Ravello. Beautiful town and offers everything. The hotel staff were extremely nice and they tried their best to help. Breakfast was excellent. I need to take a moment to express my thanks and appreciation to (Francesca) she’s not only the front desk person but also the restaurant, cleaning and any other area within the Hotel. Extremely nice, knowledgeable and very helpful

Everything. The hotel is lovely, the service is excellent, breakfast is plentiful, with lots of home baked breads and cakes, and the pool is wonderful.. The views from my room and balcony were outstanding and the room itself was pretty and tasteful. Antonio is a very attentive host who is always available and the whole family is warm and friendly. I loved staying at this hotel and in the charming village of Scala.

Luigi was very solicitous and had great suggestions for restaurants and cafes. The Scala location was gorgeous and the room was tastefully decorated. I loved the terrace overlooking Ravello and spent time there. My husband was thrilled that there was a washing machine and he could leave Scala with clean clothes. The room was equipped with a stove and I could make tea. I loved how non-touristic Scala was.

It was an amazing location but be aware the hotel might have extra guests or evening events. Very nice and calm, not a lot of tourists during our stay in May and easy access to the pool, breakfast and excellent dinners. Very touristy places like Ravello and Amalfi. There were extra pool towels. The host had many great suggestions for what we had planned during our stay.

We had a beautiful view of Ravello with a balcony. Sort bus journey down to Amalfi Town, which are almost every half hour from early morning until 23:00. Friendly staff, helpful, especially Carla on reception, great English speaking and full of character. Nice pool located in the next hotel, good views, clean, plenty of free parking. Bargain price

The owner was very sweet to pick me up from Amalfi since he knew I was pregnant and had heavy stuff, really well concerning. Breakfast was amazing, the only thing in general, in Amalfi, Ravello e Scala is there is barely public transport, so be aware to arrange a taxi and also be aware you will pay around €50,- to go from amalfi to scala.

It has by far the best combination of a great service, a warm welcoming staff, and a romantic and elegant atmosphere with inredible views to Ravello and the sea. It was the best hotel we stayed in the whole amalfi coast. I will definitely come back and stay with you guys. Special thanks to Stefano and Luisa for their great hospitality.

Antonio and his family has managed to find a perfect combination of feeling like you are welcomed into someone’s home with most of the services of a high end hotel. Highly recommend having lunch at the hotel, it was brilliant, rustic, and delicious (cooked by the family as well).
