The breakfast options were perfect for us. We couldn't fault the cooked breakfast it was perfect, the availability of fruit and other well thought out touches. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We both said that every aspect was perfectly cooked and it was probably the best hotel breakfast that we have had. Thank you so much to your staff. 👍🏽

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location (a few mins walk from the lake and transport services). Alpine Beauty and Lakeside Tranquillity
Set at the south-western tip of Y-shaped Lake Como, the town of Como offers wonderful views of the surrounding Alps. A funicular railway runs up to the village of Brunate from where you can see Switzerland on the opposite shore.
The peaceful location has long been a favourite with celebrities, but the town has been around since Roman times. In fact, 2 of its most famous sons – Pliny the Elder and Younger – are commemorated in statues on the façade of the 14th-century cathedral. The next door Broletto dates to the previous century, and even older are the remains of the medieval walls and Castello Baradello, sitting on a hill overlooking the town.
Much more modern in style is the Casa del Fascio, built during Mussolini’s rule. The streets between here and the waterfront are packed with shops, bars and restaurants, and Lake Como boat trips depart from the small marina.
The neighbouring park houses a temple-like museum about Alessandro Volta (another former resident), and around the shoreline is elegant Villa Olmo which looks across landscaped gardens to the water’s edge.
The Como accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury lakefront hotels, town centre B&Bs and cheap apartments near San Giovanni Train Station, which offers direct services to Milan.

Como city itself can be visited in a day, after that the best is to take the bus and visit the cities around the lake like Mennagio - from there, take the ferry (7€/person total) and go visit Bellagio and Varenna.
You can visit villas; such as Carlotta (just before Mennagio) or Olmo (in Como).
In total, a trip between 2 and 3 days (max) is perfect.

Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful scenery. Recommend taking a trip on the fernicular for the views and a meal / drinks in the Locanda Milano hotel while up there.
Plenty of restaurants & bars to choose from in the city. The eateries with a view of the Cathederal are obviously more expensive than others further afield but not necessarily any better fare.
I was expecting it to be eye wateringly expensive but was pleasantly surprised that it was comparable to London / Brighton prices.
Advise picking up a street map from tourist info as the narrow streets can look very similar!

Stunning location, recommend you get up early to get the first boat to other towns on the lake. You have no queues, similarly with the funicular. We got an early car up to Brunate. Came down at 1pm and the queue to go up stretched onto the street.
Easy to get to from Milan (1 hr train)

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with this accommodation. A few minutes before our arrival we received a call from Cascina Mirandola that there were no more rooms available for us. They had selected another hotel for us. There was no explanation or apology for this situation. The other hotel was very far away so we asked for another suggestion. We were assured that we would pay the same price as contractually agreed in the booking. As it was already evening, we drove to the suggested accommodation and stayed there overnight. The next morning we had to pay a much higher price for this overnight stay. The owner phoned Cascina Mirandola to clarify how to proceed. Casicina Mirandola promised to transfer the difference to us. After very slow communication by phone and email, we are still waiting for our money and an apology. Our calls are no longer answered. We feel cheated and cannot recommend Cascina Mirandola under any circumstances.

I must say, after everything I have heard about the beautiful Como, I was left disappointed. Maybe my expectations were a little to high but I didn't like it there. It is a cute town but nothing special. Doesn't feel Italian, if that's what you're looking for. Also, is it quite pricey. I will not be coming back here.

Breathtaking view of the lake and so many interesting places to visit. It was relaxing to simply be able to walk along the lake and be awed by the surrounding nature. It’s mesmerizing! I didn’t think I needed more time to spend in Como. I would have loved to stay longer to explore the many gems of these places.
But again, an opportunity to return in the near future.
This is the best place to stay in Como. I almost booked two hotel rooms at Hotel Barchetta Excelsior but I am so much happier we stayed here. A group of 4 rented two rooms which were like top-tier hotel rooms -- Impeccable use of space, design, comfort, and cleanliness. The property is located in the very center of the city. On top of that, Alessandro is an amazing host who recommended many places for dinner. Congratulations to him on this beautiful place! We liked it so much that we decided to rent one extra night and stay in Como.
Breakfast was OK. A decent choices of croissants, buns, etc. Smaller variety of cold meat cuts, but quite good scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage. Coffe was good as well.
Location is great, right in the middle of Como old town, a minute walk to the lake. We've got a room whihc was on the opposite side of the main square, therefore it was quet, as there are many restaurants and bars in the square and it can get loud in the evening. But the room was dark. Hotel corridors in need of refurbisment as well.
Excellent location - in the center of the old town, in a historic building. The hotel is quiet, clean, very comfortably furnished. The old and the modern are beautifully combined in design. When you go out on the street there is beautiful Volta square with many cafes and restaurants. Two minutes away Lake Como.
Very responsive, supportive and hospitable hostess. Meeting with Elena is a real dose of energy and joy for the whole day. Thank you Elena!
Hotel looked out onto the Lake which was stunning! Location, I would rate it 10/10. slightly outdated hotel but that’s the case for many in Italy. I think just for the price for the two nights, it could be nicer but of course it’s the location that makes it expensive!! It was perfect for what we needed but isn’t luxurious I would say☺️ But everything was clean, the bed was so comfortable and shower was great! Staff were helpful too!
The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was incredible. It was in a good location (although a little hard to find on a side street initially), close to the train station and not far from Lake Como. We were able to walk everywhere and basically access everything we needed from the hotel. The staff were exceptionally nice, and the room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice as well.
Everything is very clean especially the towels are better than some five stars hotels. Bathroom is the best and spacious.
I feel safe like home because in the fence and very private location.
Rossana is very kind and responsible.
location is very closed to Como Lago train station and some attractions in town and lake . Very convenient. Also have parking in center of city .
Excellent 👍, outstanding 👌, beautiful 😍.
The apartment is nice and clean. Perfect location near of city center and train station. Supermarket, restaurants everything is within short walking distance!!! Very big terrace with some view to the Como Lake.
Highly recommended for those who want to have a good rest and not be addicted to the same morning breakfasts in hotels.
Best Plaza in town. The hotel truely is a hidden gem. it's boutique and very very cute, the rooms are cozy and the bed was paradise.
The owners are friendly and helpful.
The breakfast - for we are in Italy - was unexpectedly rich and you can sit in the Winter Garden overlooking the plaza in front seeing the neighbourhood waren up. I loved every Minute.
We stayed one night whilst driving in the Lake Como area and we were extremely satisfied with this hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful, the cleanliness of the premises and the room was immaculate. I think the most impressive bit about the rooms are the bathrooms. It was one of the highlights ot the trip and we will definitely be back.
The property is super clean and safe! It’s a very standard hotel (as someone who lives in North America) so it was nice in that we could keep our luggages there, they had 24/7 reception, a breakfast bar, etc. and it was close to the waterfront! Como is so beautiful and stunning so this was a great location to be based out of.
The staff went above and beyond to provide a full 5-star concierge experience. They held our bags at checkout, offered to bring them to the train station, and generally spoke with my friend and I with extreme patience and kindness. I highly recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Como on a budget!
Amazing property with amazing views. Rooftop pool and terrace restaurant was very nice. Hotel common areas were very luxurious and cosy. We brought our dog and they were very accommodating with a dog bed and treats. A bit on the pricier end, but a truly fantastic stay on Lake Como.
Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable hotel, lovely breakfast. Enjoyed the pool and roof terrace bar. 6 min walk from Como Borghi railway station - with easy access to Milan and Malpense airport. Fast ferries make exploring the lake and day trips to Bellagio and Varenna easy.
Cernobbio is so quaint. There are many excellent restaurants in the area. The hotel is very close to the ferry stop which was very convenient to getting to Lake Como. The staff was so helpful and friendly from Matia at the front desk to Andrew in the bar lounge!
The Hotel is an authentic building in the middle of the town. It is nice and located by the main square of Como with a lovely teras where you can have food and coffee. And you can reach the corso of the lake in a few seconds by walk.
The location was in one of the main piazzas where there was a lot of activity, including live music and several restaurants and bars. The hotel was conveniently located within short walking distance of the Lake Como
The staff at the hotel offer great service & are very attentive at all times. Comfortable beds & Pillows.Generous breakfast. Great location near lake Como & railway station. Grazie 😉🇮🇹♥️
What a wonderful hotel with beautifully kept lounges and rooms. The flowers looked amazing, the breakfast was excellent. Staff at reception very accomodating, it was a fantastic stay!
